I really like this bullet, it’s an excellent medium weight bullet. and the mold is like all the rest of my MP molds it is perfect and cast beautiful bullets. Mine is a gas check mold, I went with a gas check because of shooting from leverguns. I powder coated all bullets and sized 358. I have only shot it out of several 357 mags. Mainly out of a S&W M 60 3”, a S&W M 686 mountain gun 4”, and a Rossi 92 16”. Accuracy from the M60 with several powders, AA#9, A 2400 and surplus WC 820, groups at 25 yards from the 3” Barrel averaged 2”, from the 4 “ mountain gun 1 1/4”-1 1/2”. From the M 92 at 25 yards under 1” and 50 yards just under 2” Eventually will test from Ruger and Colt, and Winchester and Marlin leverguns. But in the leverguns I like the MP 180 grain better just because more bullet so holds up a little better in penetration tests in wet print.
In wet print cast of 20-1 pure-Tin and WW the Penta and Big round Hollow point expanded beautiful with big mushroom from handguns and the Penta opens easier. From the 92 not much bullet left that’s why I like the 180 better in leverguns. But if use it in solid form if shooting something where more penetration is needed don’t use the Hollow points. Either way just a dandy bullet. No problem hitting steel at 100 yards just didn’t shoot groups.
I took a picture of a few expanded bullets if I can figure out how to send it to you I will. If wanted to drive it harder and a little better penetration just add a pound of Linotype to the mix. And H 110 would be another good powder to use.

I wanted a gaschecked bullet for my Chiappa 1892 in 357 Magnum. The bullets cast from my alloy have weight 165 gr., there are just very small variations in weight.

These molds are works of art and one can tell that they have been produced with the attention to detail you just don’t find very often anymore. I now have 3 molds by mp molds and can’t wait to add to my collection. Best Mold, Best price, hands down!
