14 review for 9 or 38-147 RN BB 6 cav BR NLG mold

    1. Crispy Fingers

I ordered this mold on the 22nd and received it on the 31st. That’s faster than some US based mold maker ship!

This mold just rains bullets. I’ve never had a six cavity mold before but the price on this mold made me pull the trigger. I was debating over the eight cavity aluminum or the six cavity brass, they are the same price. But I’ll always pick brass over aluminum. Like any MP mold this thing is flawless.

I washed the mold with hot water and soap to clean any remaining oils off the brass. Then I heat cycled it in my oven three times at 350°. Heat it for 30 minutes, remove it and let it cool then repeat. Once heat cycled I put a VERY light amount of lube on the top face of the mold. I also lightly smoked the mold cavities. Three casts later I was in business. I poured 600 bullets in 75 minutes.

Having no lube groove these bullets fall out of the mold with a light tap,.

You can’t go wrong with a MP mold. This is my second and definitely not my last.

Excellent mold, one of my favorite for 9mm. Great quality, as always with MP!

      Shoots great

Saubere Verarbeitung, einfach in der Handhabung. Aufgrund der Messingkokillen super Geschossqialität auch bei ungeübten “Gießern”

    9. Michael Sinclair

Wow! These cast to .358 or .359 with my alloy mix. They just drop out of the mold. They’re .360″ after two coats of HiTek powder coating. I sized down to .356 and .357 for my Ruger PC9. It likes the .357 sizing better. They weigh about 153 grains when they’re coated and ready to load with a Lyman #2 alloy. There’s a lot of published powders to use for a cast bullet this weight. Mine is the bevel base version. It helps with seating. Best molds around.

Best molds ever. I have the bevel base version. Mine drop at .358 or .359, depending on alloy. .360 after HiTek coating 3 coats. They weigh a little over 150 grains. I sized to .356 and .357 for my Ruger PC9. The barrel prefers the .357″ sizing. I use a Lyman M die for seating. I have fired these in pistols. It’s got a lot of power factor with the right powders. These just drop out of the mold so easily. Hundreds made in about two hours.

Top quality mold delivered quickly. It really does not get any better.
This is my second MP Mold. They both work beautifully and cast excellent bullets.

      makes great shooting bullets

This was my first brass mold and took a little time to figure out temps and cadence. After heat several heat cycles and then a couple casting sessions the mold performs wonderfully. Bullets from the mold drop to size and weight advertised. This particular bullet shoots great from my CZ Shadow 2. The brass is heavier than alum of course but holds temperature very well. The craftsmanship of the MP mold is amazing. I will definitely purchase molds from MP for my next projects. Really wish I would have started with MP.
