A mold that is perfect in every way. Bullets dropping like rain. Faster delivery than when ordering most things from the US.
NOTICE THE SET SCREWS PERPENDICULAR TO THE SPRUE PLATE SCREW BEFORE TIGHTENING! Fortunately, mine were already loose before I tightened. The base of the bullet is beveled. Somehow, I keep getting overfill on the bullets, like there’s a little space between sprueplate and mold face. No lead or anything, I’ve cleaned it off carefully.
Thicker block than Lee, much more meat, aluminum meat, beneath the actual cavities. Takes longer to heat (hotplate makes this a non-issue) but holds heat longer. After about 8 to 10 fills I tend to just find something to screw around with for a minute natually, affording it a chance to cool down. Folded wet towel will work best for more even cadence.
The sprue plate extension is not the correct angle. The handles (sprue plate and mold) hit each other and make it very difficult to hold the mold while casting. I tried to paste a photo of the MP mold and a Lee mold with similar sprue plate to show the offset difference in the sprue plate handles but it would not allow me to paste it in the comment area.
Have not used this mold yet. Quality looks great. Incredibly fast shipping!
Awesome mold for mm, or 38 Special………..
