      In summary, I am very happy with my recent MP460-420HP mould purchase. I recommend this mould to anyone who anticipates what I have experienced.

      1) As I have read, the delivery was surprisingly quick. But I live in Alaska, so I had to pay $22 extra for the shipping that is free to the lower 48. FedEx got it to the Anchorage airport in two days, then gave it to USPS who took four more days to get it up here.
      2) This is a mould for reloaders that love to experiment. As soon as I got it I started casting. I poured a hundred each with the three hollowpoint pins and the flatnose. Before weighing I used a sharp pocketknife to trim many fins that formed around the noses of some of the bullets; that greatly reduced the variances. After I culled out visible defects and weight variations of +/- 2 grains, I finished with 76 of the pentapoints, 79 of the hollowpoints, 84 of the cuppoints, and 87 of the flatpoints. The final weights averaged 386 gr PP, 382 gr HP, 393 gr CP, and 401 gr FP.
      3) I worked up a load of 32gr of AA5744 that averaged 3.5 inches from a Browning SRC at 100 yards. I used this load with the four different bullets, and they went 1484-1528 fps muzzle velocity, depending on weight. The PPs can sometimes snag and are a bit fragile when feeding through my carbine.
      3) With a mix of wheel weights and 3% tin I shot a caribou at 132 yards with one of the CP bullets. It passed through 25 inches, broke a rib going in and clipped a shoulder blade coming out, and left an exit hole of about 3 inches. I wish I had used a PP. But I’m still pursuing moose….

      I couldn’t be happier! Super-fast delivery and the mould is a work of art. It casts perfect hollow-point bullets effortlessly. Using the deep HP plug, bullets expanded in water to about 0.85 inches at 900 ft/s from a 45-70 revolver. According to the VIRGEL wound mass calculator (free on the Google Play Store) that translates to about 15 inches of penetration and over 100 grams of wound mass. Perfect for deer hunting!

      The mold is exceptionally well machined and to receive it in-hand 2.5 days after I ordered it is AMAZING. From Slovenia to North Carolina in 2.5 days!

      All that aside, I am not too happy to have the bullet NOT chamber correctly in firearms with short (standard) throats. The forward section of the bullet, ahead of the crimp groove is a full diameter section, preventing chambering in most of my 45-70 guns and most 45-90 rifles. That section NEEDS to be bore diameter (.450) like all of the Lee bullet molds thereby allowing the bullet to slip into the bore ahead of the throat. This issue also exists on the 30 caliber HP mold I purchased and it will NOT chamber in most 30-30 rifles with industry standard throats.

      This unfortunately will be my last mold purchase for a rifle even though other caliber molds would be a nice addition. I simply won’t take another chance with the cast bullets not chambering due to their full caliber diameter well up the ogive in front of the crimp groove.

      Seating them deeper will allow chambering, but would raise pressures considerable as well as allowing bullet deepening in lever action tubular magazines under recoil.

      Please Please Please Please reduce the bullet diameter ahead of the crimp groove!!!!!!
