This is my first brass mold with HP. It is really beautiful. I just have replaced the screw used to secure the sprue plate screw by a bigger one. The mold looks to love high temperatures. I have inserted a thermocouple in its frame. With 5% TiN, the furnace temperature was 450°C and the mold temperature : 250°C.

I bought this mould as a nice addition to my HG#68 moulds from MP and also with this I can quickly cast high quality lead bullets with different hollow points. I never had any problems with it during casting, the bullets fall out of the caverns almost by themselves. I either grease the bullets or coat them with powder, thanks to the grease groove I am free in my decision. Calibrated to .451 or .452 I achieve a very good precision with my 6″ HPS target.

Wonderful mold! Break in was fast and hollow point system works very well. Cast a few hundred hollow points, switched to flat point and cast a bunch of those. Size and weight is spot on with wheel weights. Loaded up 50 and need to get them on paper and do expansion testing. Will update after testing.

Excellent! I’ve been a devoted H&G mold user for nearly 25 years, but wanted to try a HP mold in spite of being warned the bullets don’t drop out well. All I can say is BS! After 1 warming session (2-3 fills) the bullets drop off with nothing more than a shake. Very well pleased with the accuracy. This one outshoots my H&G 68 flat base and bevel base bullets.
I’m going to get another.

This is my second MP 452-185 SWC HP PB 4 cavity mold. The first was excellent and shoots very well. The second is undersized and shoots very poorly. No response to email sent over 30 days ago.
