This is the first hold that I’ve bought and was pleasantly surprised at how easily and quickly I was able to cast beautiful, consistent hollow point bullets. The mold its self is a very clever work of engineering and made to very exact tolerances. I was also surprised at how quickly the cold was delivered. Just under a week to Australia. A great product.

Boy did this ever get here fast! Super fast service from overseas. Mold is top notch in materials and workmanship. It really needs instructions. I figured it out (I think) but would like detailed use instructions. If I was a first-time bullet caster this mold would blow my mind. That is why it gets the middle of the road review. Fix that up and you’ve got a 5!

I’ve had several MP molds before, and all have been excellent. This may be the best I’ve had so far though: perfect machining and incredibly fast shipping too. After initial break in and warm up it casts incredibly nice bullets. The weights and diameters have been extremely consistent. It also came with 5 sets of hollow point pins: flat, small semicircle, small cone, large cone, and penta. Really great mold!

Good mold I just got confused on your site regarding grooved or non-grooved due to the shared bullet weight photos. Sorting by bullet coating might help. I powdercoat everything.

The first mold that I purchased from MP-molds was for 385 grain, .475 caliber, gas check hollow point bullets. Based upon the quality of this mold and the in-gauge bullets that it produced, I ordered a .454 Colt mold for my revolver and companion lever action rifle. Again, the mold quality is excellent, and the bullets drop within gauge. As with the .475 cast bullets, the .454 bullets are of uniform weight, accept the gas checks with a positive “snap”, and group within 1 minute of angle from both weapons. What more could I ask?

MP brass HP molds are a work of art and this one just enhances the mold collection. They come with all HP pin options including a flat so you can cast solids as well. Weight with wheel weight plus 2 percent tin is right where it is supposed to be.
