      My fourth MP Mold. Preheating is necessary but then the sprue cutter can be moved just with little force. No bump stick necessary. (Pot temperature around 420°C)

      I’m extremely-happy with this mold. After getting used to the issues encountered when casting hollow-points, it has become by favorite mold.

      The cavities cast to within 0.0002” (that’s two TEN-thousandths) of each other, and are essentially perfectly-round even before sizing. I’ve created a seating stem that applies pressure within the hollow point itself, thus preserving the nose profile when loading.

      Regardless of the alloy, the bullets are extremely accurate. When cast of soft alloy, they expand reliably and to a remarkable size.

      Should I ever need another bullet mold, it would be difficult to convince me to shop elsewhere.

      This mold is making excellent SWCs as usual with molds from MP. My shooting partner is using a Ruger GP100 in one class, where flush seated WCs are not allowed, and we are developing his load for that match with this SWC. I have MP molds in numerous designs and diameters, and the HBWCs are our standard in most revolvers. We’re also using MP’s .45 SWC in match loads for 1911s, and the SWCHP and HBWC in Auto Rim cases.

      This is the second mold of this shape (358-429 Keith) that I purchase from Miha. I load this bullet in .38Spec. for the BdMP discipline C.9.7 Standard Revolver 2.75″, a sub-discipline of PPC1500. Since I don’t use gas check since I powder coat my bullets, I wanted a mold with a completely smooth bullet base. With the long pins and my bullet catch lead alloy, I get the 158gr. required by the sporting code. Bullet mass – perfect! Well, and as far as function and handling of the molds from MP-Moulds are concerned, there is nothing negative to say. For me, they are the world’s best molds! Michel Schauch Germany
